Hi! I’m a physicist at the University of Michigan, in the Pioneer Fellows program. From Oct 2026 I will be a Walter Grant Scott research fellow at Trinity Hall college (U. Cambridge). I also did my PhD in Cambridge, apart from a year-long stint as a research associate at NTU (Singapore). My work is focused on mechanics, and especially elastic solids. I typically use a blend of analytical and computational methods. I’m interested in most areas of physics and mechanics, but especially soft matter, metamaterials, shells, and vibrations. I love it when geometry plays a key role. My publications can be found here on this site, or on my google scholar page, or via my ORCiD
. My full CV is here.
I write a Physics/Maths/Engineering blog here on this site, which lives under 'Posts'. The most recent posts can be found below, and to be notified about future posts you can subscribe to the blog via email, and/or follow me on twitter.
